Sam's background in farming and agriculture gives him a unique perspective and ability to lead engagements for families who wish to preserve real property, business assets and to create a legacy.
Sam has 12 years of experience in the insurance planning and high net worth risk management space. His strong relationships with leading insurance companies enables him to both design and implement large and complex life insurance solutions.
His greatest achievements are his children and spending quality time with them in the mountains and deserts around Southern Utah, Northern Arizona and at their cabin in Montana. Sam is an avid cross country runner. He recently completed, what many argue to be the world's most challenging ultra-marathon, the Grand to Grand, a grueling 172-mile fully self-supported race over six days across the Grand Staircase.
Sam studied communications at Southern Utah University. He and his wife, Mandy, reside in St. George, Utah, with their four children.
Stephen Mongie, Principal
With 20 years of experience in the life insurance industry, Stephen has observed significant market and industry shifts, which enable him to advise clients on the successful implementation of insurance strategies tailored to exactly meet their needs. Stephen's passion is to connect, serve and help others grow and prosper.
Stephen leads VCG's financial modeling team as they work with family office teams to compare and contrast different strategies. VCG's team works very closely with their clients' accountants, attorneys and other advisors to collectively work in the best interest of the client to meet defined financial objectives.
Stephen has served in various consulting roles at Arthur Andersen, Computer Associates and Covey Leadership. He graduated as an officer from The South Infantry School and was deployed as a platoon commander.
Stephen immigrated to the United States from South Africa in 1991 to attend Brigham Young University’s Marriott School of Management, where he was selected as the Kemper Insurance Scholar in 1992. His Kemper (Zurich Insurance) experience gave him assignments in risk underwriting, claims management and communications. He and Denise are the parents of four girls and two boys.
Zach McGlothin, Chief Operations Officer
Zach joined the team to enhance the VCG client experience and to streamline business operations to allow us to spend more time with our clients and less time behind the computer screen.
He most recently comes from the private wealth management industry, where he spent the better part of a decade overseeing investment portfolios for Ultra-High Net Worth (UHNW) individuals, families, and charitable organizations. While in the industry, he served in numerous roles, but most notably spent time advising clients, directing portfolio management and trading, and leading efforts to assimilate operations of multiple independent firms onto one unified platform.
Zach brings experience in client service and relationship management. His aptitude to make authentic connections supports VCG's vision of constructing custom solutions that are best suited to protect the families we serve and their legacy for generations to come.
Zach graduated with a degree in finance from Brigham Young University. He lives in Bluffdale, Utah with his fiancée and three children.
Michelle Jensen, Director - Client Services
Michelle directs the firm's new case submission and underwriting processes. Her extensive experience and deep knowledge in preparing, processing, and issuing large insurance cases make her a valuable asset to the VCG team. Michelle expertly navigates the complexities and challenges inherent in placing and managing large life insurance policies.
A skilled multitasker with exceptional listening skills, she possesses an intense commitment to follow-through and results. Michelle is a key member of VCG's new business and client services group.
In her free time, Michelle enjoys gardening, biking, swimming, and playing volleyball and soccer with her son and numerous nieces and nephews. She lives in St. George, Utah, with her son and their Golden Doodle.
Traci Bartlett, Manager - Customer Relations
Traci plays a pivotal role in ensuring exceptional service and fostering strong, long-lasting relationships with clients. With an understanding of the premium finance industry, Traci works closely with clients to help navigate their insurance premium financing needs. With a focus on clear communication, timely support, and effective problem resolution, Traci is dedicated to delivering an outstanding customer experience.
With a background in customer service and a passion for building trust and rapport, Traci is committed to contributing to the growth and success of VCG by maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and service excellence.
Outside of work, Traci enjoys spending time with her family, building LEGOs, and hiking. She lives in Bluffdale, Utah with her husband and two children.
